The thing about the people that use this flag is that they keep trying to be a "Good Russian" by hating everything about the country, not just Putin. You talk to one of those guys and soon enough you realize they don't want Russia to change, they want Russia to *burn* . I mean, why would they care? A lot of them fled to Georgia, or Israel, or wherever else long ago. Oh, and Ukrainians they try to suck up to? They hate those guys even more than they hate the average Russians. Having their own flag is the type of gesture that represents these people perfectly. A virtue signal that implies they're the most specialest bois around and sets them apart from both their own people and everybody else. No one wants them in Russia and no one waits for them with baited breath abroad.

I definitely think the Random checks are a huge factor. I live in Dublin, where we have 3 systems. On inner city trains, we have turnstyles. On trams, we have random checks. On suburban trains, its often more or less an honour system. And I can safely say that the random checks are absolutely the msot effectively, especially when done well. In the city centre it feels like you're watching the marines at work. They board at a stop, in teams of 4, at the centre of the tram, and move towards each end in pairs, one chevking each side of the tram. Generally they'll have checked every ticket by the tram reaches the next stop, meaning potential fare evadors are essentially trapped and must pay a fine. That being said, they are very friendly and often will let folks off with a warning

Our flag the Hungarian🇭🇺 is made of three colors red ,white and green. They told us back in school that the red symbolises Power the white symbolises Loyalty and green symbolises Hope. Altought we dont have historical evidences about this everyone knows it. Its probably the same way with the ukrainian. Its a legend told by the old that the flag symbolises the blue sky and the yellow grain field. We dont think much about it.

I hate how the soviet union has become synonymous with communism. Communism isn't inherently bad or authoritarianian. Its hard to put into practice, but if it does work, it's a huge gain for everyone. Contrary to capitalism which always kinda works, but fucks over 75% of the population
